Extreme VR was conceived late 2004. The idea was to build an interactive motion platform, with additional peripheral haptics, such as an 8 point pneumatic impact vest, fans, heaters and odorisers, interfaced with a PC. The motion-sim platform would respond to embedded video triggers or first person game commands. Evan attached a 7inch LCD monitor to a helmet for the display. At the time Evan was a regular contributor to the X-Sim motion simulator community.
The intent was to create immersive and very believable experiences, such as a high speed traffic accident, EXTREME, which would have a lasting impact on the participant, thus leaving a memory influencing them to slow down.
Evan created a youtube channel to track his progress. Since then the channel has become a repository for his dirt bike and fishing activities. To this day the channel has attracted over one million views and over a thousand subscribers.
